Men of the Church

"Gather, Grow, and Give as Men of God to the Glory of God"

All men are invited to come and connect with regular guys who are doing our best to do God's work in our world.  We enjoy GATHERING together for hearty laughter, friendship, and encouragement; GROWING together from the very basics of life and faith to wrestling with profound issues that are not easily answered; and GIVING back to the community through the many outreaches sponsored by Presbyterian Men.

Presbyterian Men is a lay-led, non-profit organization, affiliated with the National Council of Presbyterian Men, the official men's organization of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Mission

To lead men into a vital relationship with Christ, and to assist them in their spiritual, personal, and community development.

Purposes

The basic Purposes of Presbyterian Men are:
  • to lead men into a vital relationship to Jesus Christ;
  • to develop their understanding of the mission of the Church;
  • to encourage them through their commitment to Christ;
  • to fulfill the ministry to which men are called in their homes, in their church, in their daily work, and in the community and the world; and
  • to involve men of various racial/ethnic backgrounds and men of all ages.

RRPC men get together for dinners, occasional retreats, and golf outings. They have lunches accompanied by presentations by economists, newspaper columnists, authors, and leaders in the human service sector. River Road Presbyterian Men are chartered as an affiliate of The National Council of Presbyterian Men since 2004.

This year the Men of the Church have elected to participate in the monthly Meals on Wheels program. Ten teams of two men will make deliveries of two meals to shut-ins and the poor who have no other way of achieving a well-balanced and nutritious diet on their own.
